Interested undergraduate and postgraduate students working on oral health in children in any specialty are invited to apply for maximum funding of up to N100,000 ($500:00) for undergraduate studies and N200,000 ($1,000) for postgraduate studies. The studies should identify a specific gap in the field of oral health care for children in Africa and generate evidence for improved oral health care practices.
This call is open to initiatives from within a single institute, or across years and institutes. Projects should also address the Paediatric Dentistry Working Group’s core mission to understand and address the challenges children and adolescents in Africa find in accessing oral health care through research, teaching, and public engagement.
Applications should include
Name, affiliation, and email contact for the lead applicant(s), and (where appropriate) co-applicants;
Project title and brief summary of the planned activity, in not more than 200 words;
The total amount requested;
Detailed description of the research methodology its connection to the Paediatric Dentistry Working Group’s core mission, and plans for dissemination of the research
Budget, including justification;
Details of other funding source if fund required for project exceeds the grant application
Timeline of work to be supported, and estimated completion date;
CVs for all named applicants;
Two letters of recommendation/support from senior scholar in the field of the proposed activity.
Submission of application opens on February 4, 2018
For full consideration, applications should be received by March 15, 2018.
